Yet another challenge that I haven't entered before: Fab & Funky. They are being sponsored by Soft Pencil this month so I chose a Soft Pencil digi for my card. This sweet little girl has a flower for you. I printed her a second time on the flowered paper from Cardmaker's Creative Pack (HOTP) and pieced her dress and hair bows. It gives an effect that plain markers cannot. The sentiment: God Bless is cut from pink Oh My Vinyl with the Cricut Expression cartridge: Life is a Beach. The pink paper roses are from Paper Wishes. The lattice punch I believe is Martha Stewart and I backed it with a pink border strip (DCWV).
The Character Cafe Challenge this week is part of their blog hop for new releases. The beaver is a freebie, but I saw a lot of really nice digis. Must go back after payday! Again I used paper from Cardmaker's Creative Pack from HOTP, some teal ribbon I bought in bulk on ebay a couple of years ago and lettering in Oh My Vinyl gold cut with the Cricut Expression cartridge: Life is a Beach. This card could be for any age, for birthday, Father's Day or just because.
The 3rd Challenge is Crafty Catz. The requirement is black & red. Zee the Zebra is a Sew Many Cards image. Since zebras are black and white, it seemed a good place to start. The BP came from an HOTP Cardmaker's Classic Creative Pack. I added some silver Dazzles also from HOTP and an acrylic sentiment tile from JoAnn's: "Live it Up". I don't do much in black & white but I really liked the way this one came out. I hope you do too.
Sorry for putting so much in one post, but Blogger was down since last night and just came back up late afternoon. I was crafting all day except for a trip to WalMart for groceries so I wanted to get these posted and entered into their challenges. Hope you have had a productive day also.

Strawberries & Cream
I found another new (to me) challenge today. Allsorts. I remember Dad talking about allsorts (a licorice candy). Here it has a double meaning. The licorice is on the header but it also means all sorts of papercrafting. The challenge for this week is "Strawberries & Cream". You do not have to use strawberries, just the colors of red, green (stems), brown and cream. I took the liberty of lightening the red in some spots to pink.
My first thought at the theme was the Phindy's Place digi of the mouse on the strawberry cake. The paper is from Cardmaker Creative Pack. The 3mm pink pearls and the large red brads are from Paper Wishes. Besides the Allsorts Challenge I am also entering this card in the Phindy's Place Challenge for a birthday card. What is a birthday without cake??
I slept a couple of hours today and did some more organizing, well, a little more, so I didn't get as many cards made. There is still time this evening and tomorrow. I hope to have most of the scraproom moved by the end of the week. Don't hold me to that.

Just Dance
I was wandering around some blogs last night and found a fun challenge called Scrap It With a Song. The song for this week (which ends this morning) is I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack).
I chose the Phindy's Place image of the little girl dancing (Spring Dresses). I believe the song is telling us to look at the world with the wonder of a child. This girl is totally happy, dancing, and carefree, not worried, distracted and stressed. I colored her with Copics and used paper from stash. The music Dazzles were purchased at Paper Wishes as were the 5mm gold pearls. The lettering is cut from Oh My Vinyl using the Cricut Expression cartridge Life is a Beach.
I'm anxious to see what the new song for this week is going to be.

Another Challenge Met: Father's Day with no Blue
Sew Many Cards Challenge for this week is to make a Father's Day card without using the color blue. I covered an ivory blank card with a tan metallic Magic Mesh to give a sand-like look. The sand castle is a SMC image and I colored it with Copic markers (Barely Beige, Sand, Lipstick Red, Willow, Yellow). The fish brads are from Paper Wishes and the lettering was in the stash. It is a simple card and blue for water would have been nice, but not necessary. Most kids think that their Dad is King (at least until the teenage years).
Wild Thing
The challenge at My Time To Craft this week is "Wild Thing". I immediately thought of this paper. It is Debbie Mumm. The rows of animal skin prints and giraffes, zebras, tigers & monkeys definitely qualify as wild things. However the giraffe in the image is very friendly (Phindy's Place). I added some irridescent flowers and secured them with glittery brads. This card would work well for a birthday of any age, a thinking of you or friendship card.
Other Birthday Card
As I said in the previous post (if you missed it, scroll down!) we have twin great niece & nephew with birthdays coming up next week. Emily's card is posted below and Davey's is above. I am entering his card in the Cute Card Thursday color challenge. The colors were blue, orange & black. The image is from Sunshine Stamps and colored with Copics. The lettering is cut on Cricut Expression using orange Oh My Vinyl. I used the Life is a Beach and Beyond Birthdays cartridges.
I'm sure there will be additional posts this weekend. I am still moving the scraproom so I move/organize a little, then play a little.....

Insomnia
Insomnia can be a good thing - in moderation. I couldn't sleep last night so I "played". This card is for the Kaboodle Doodles recipe challenge: 3 papers, 2 embellishments, 1 image. The green/blue mix and the dark blue papers are My Mind's Eye: Confetti. The tan burlap looking paper is HOTP. The 2 white brads are from stash. The image is "Quiet Afternoon" from Phindy's Place colored with Copic Markers.
Phindy's Place challenge is to make a birthday card. Our twin great niece & nephew have a birthday coming up. This is Emily's card. The image is from Phindy's Place (of course). The flowered paper is Me & My Big Ideas. and the cardstock is DCWV. I used double stick Dazzle flowers with blue glitter to give sparkle to the card. "Birthday Wishes" acrylic tile is from JoAnn's.
